I read this article tonight.... http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1895,2148802,00.asp

okay the way I understand the legalese quoted in the article is this.... (if it goes through) "You can't copy a DVD sucessfully because of some code on the original DVD that won't copy over and a complimentary code on the copy DVD will look for the code that won't be copied...if that uncopied hidden code isn't found then the copy can't play...."

(and therefore keeping the original DVD from being copied...because there is hidden code that says "I am the original copy" and complimentary code that says "don't copy the hidden code" and more complimentary code that says "If I'm a copy, then I can't be played because I don't have the hidden code")
