The new excuse...

Okay here's another "Alex the whiner" post......

For those of you familiar with the situation this is a new twist to things....

There's this one "dummy tape" I have in the "big pile" that is actually a "keep" tape because it has the final episode of Touched By An Angel on it and since then I haven't really felt that any program or TV movie reached out and grabbed me to be "kept" especially in this age where "it might come out on DVD anyway" especially TV series.

Anyway coming up on the final batch of episodes for Star Trek Enterprise there's supposed to be a really good episode set in the Mirror Universe where "history" took a different path and Earth and the others that formed Starfleet, instead of forming a Federation, were evil and formed the Terran Empire, sometimes referred to as the United Empire of Planets.

I'm taping that for keeps

The problem was that what was after TBAA was a backlog of Inuyasha, Gundam Seed, .hack//Legend and other episodes..... During the past month during the so far only two (counting tonight) times that Alex and Kassidy were left here for mom and I to watch, Alex claimed to have already seen the two Inuyasha episodes on the tape....so then I said I was gonna watch them myself and tell him what happened since Cartoon Network treated that show awful IMO....

....awful as in they'd show a bunch of new episodes then jump back to a point and do repeats from that point for forever and a day and the episodes at some point seem similar and I have them all jumbled up on all those tapes so neither of us can keep them chronologically straight....so it's not hard for Alex to think or say or even claim "I've seen that before."

...especially since the episodes in question have this one guy in it that looked like this other guy in another episode that declaired to be someone one of the two main female characters was engaged to (and I do remember Alex seeing that one)...but it wasn't THAT ONE.

So I told him I'd watch it and tell him what happened...

So anyway tonight since we've made that deal and then watched the Gundam Seed and .hack//Legend on that tape, I tried to see if Alex wanted to see 10 minutes of Full Metal Alchemist since the way I taped on that tape, the beginning of the FMA episode was 1:50:00 ahead of the ending of the last TBAA episode....

and I need 2:00:00 worth of tape for the Enterprise episode since it's a two parter and I didn't really want to watch it while I was taping it to cut out the commercials on the second part just so I can keep it from taping over the first ten minutes of an unwatched FMA episode.

So anyway this afternoon, I make it back here from a busy day to do Bible Study online...therefore mom jumped on the TV....afterward I ate while waiting patiently for mom to be through because I don't ask to use something that's mine (I bought the TV, the VCR, the DVD, and half of this computer), it's just a serious quirk of mine because seriously, do you ask to use YOUR OWN BED? No.....then point made.

At one point, I wasn't looking when she got up but she got up and went to another room, I thought back here, so I went back here but then I realized she was out on the patio so I just didn't change the channel or took control of the TV in any way thinking that she wasn't through with it...and then a few minutes later; Katie, Eddie and the kids came in and then Katie and Eddie left for Wal Mart for Alex's birthday gift and left them.....mom was still "squatting" the TV until...

...surprise surprise....Alex asked if he could turn the channel and then I piped in and asked him if he wanted to watch the rest of the Dragons special he wanted me to tape for him that he didn't watch all of because I was using that as leverage for and against him to get him to be able to come over and watch the first 10 minutes of FMA. I told him last Wednesday that he has until the 27th (Thursday) to watch it or else I tape over it.

Tonight when I asked, he just told me to GO AHEAD AND TAPE OVER IT....

I then calmly told him never NEVER to ask again for any "extra" favors.

He also didn't want to watch FMA then....and then later when I came back from a pop trip I noticed everyone in the back yard so I got everything ready and then asked him if he wanted FMA before Titans came on and he said "no I'm picking up sticks"....

and then later after he watched some Titans and said "I've seen this before" and I asked him again he said no, tried to get me to agree to get online and go to the Yugioh website and I was like..."I thought you liked FMA?????"

His answer to that you wonder?

"It's just not that interesting anymore because there's NO BLOOD in it anymore..."

I hate a 10 year old's logic!!! I mean I can tell him quite a few cartoons that he likes and thinks is cool that DOESN'T HAVE BLOOD IN IT.....

Ed, Edd and Eddie....
Duel Masters.....
Yugioh......
Dexter's Laboratory....
Kids Next Door....
edit: forgot.... add Teen Titans and Justice League...and the Dragonball shows.

He watches all of that and guess what??? THERE'S NO BLOOD IN ANY OF THEM!!!

grrrrrr (and also there's series in the past that he liked that didn't have blood or alot of blood in it....I used one as an example, .hack//SIGN. He especially liked that one when "they fought monsters" and guess what? since it's essentially all about an online game....THERE'S NO BLOOD WHEN SOMETHING OR SOMEONE GOT "KILLED" *lesigh*)
