more later...but now this thought....

I'm going out on a limb and ask the question (oh heck I'll just be rhetorical so I won't possibly get my feelings hurt).....

Isn't there anyone out there that you all feel sorry that you've ever met either completely online, completely offline or a combination of first online and later offline or vise versa?

I'm starting to feel that way toward one person....

There was this one young person I befriended off of AA...she used to be on AA I mean...and never renewed registration once the changeover happened, she was on there b/c a friend was on there and went by the name VeggieDawg.

At first I thought it was cool talking with her and loved to look at pictures of her baby niece but heck, enough is enough...I mean here's where it starts getting irritating, and it started right when we got broadband and then DSL.....

When we got an internet that was always on and the computers networked, we started leaving cetain other things always logged in like instant messengers. That's where it started getting irritating b/c before I knew it, the person formally known as VeggieDawg started messaging out the wazzoo EXPECTING me to be there in whichever chair for whatever computer I have the IM logged in on to message me back.

For example.... today I left the AIM on and forgot to put up an away message (Which doesn't matter because yesterday I didn't set my MSN to "appear offline" and set it to "away" and she STILL MESSAGED ME!)....I came home to this....

What the malf is that????? I mean she even told me one time something to the effect of "If you're leaving your IM logged in and not really going to be at the keyboard put up an away message"

WHAT THE MALF???? REALLY??? WHAT WAS THAT YOU DID THE OTHER DAY??? I WAS "AWAY" ON MSN AND YOU STILL MESSAGED ME....GAH!!!

I mean I think a huge part of it is the fact that VeggieDawg is 13 but heck...common sense here people....especially when the person tells you about getting DSL or broadband, when you message that person a few times and get NO RESPONSE, that means that not only is that person indisposed or away, but also could it be that the person forgot to put up an away message or something similar??????????

I mean hello...!!! If you had a broadband or DSL connection yourself, would YOU want to always leave your IM's up and just pop up an away message when you go to work or out somewhere? Or would you still desire to go through the trouble of logging out when you're gone and logging in when you're back???

Of course it wouldn't matter to someone that's braindead enough to say "If you're not gonna be there put up an away message" but yet when I do that, I still get messaged by the person.

Oh now, calm down. Thirteen yr olds can be a pain to talk to sometimes, they haven't developed their inter-etiquite yet. But that all comes with the territory. If she's bugging you by doing that, tell her so, but do it gently. She's 13 after all and might not be aware of how irritating she's being.

I have annoying things happen to me via IM too, but I still like the people despite themselves. For instance, I'll put up an "Out to Eat" away message, come back from eating, but not get on the computer. That means that same away message will be up for a whole day. People will IM me JUST to say, "How long are you gonna eat?" or "You're STILL eating?!"

I'm like "People... people... I have a life--despite how it might not look it--and I can't always get back to the computer. Plus I forget. Be glad I have anything up at all. Be glad I'm even online for you to leave a message."

I still like 'em though. They just don't realize they're being irritating. xD

WAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!!! :P I'm glad I wasn't that way when I was 13. LOL! Well, really. Sometimes kids can be pain in the asses. Not like you can actually do anything about it. It can save you a lot of trouble to simply ignore them. XD

and it's no wonder why I had set my journal to screen non-friends after your little lying stunt the other year, Amy? Just go back home to Hell okay? I'm sick of your lying shap...I'll ban every LJ you ever use to comment here until you stop.

Hello? I'm not "grown up" just because I've been nice to a few people under 18 even though they have irritated the snot out of me sometimes?

This is from the one that has accused me of something I didn't do the other year? Yxcuse me...I am going to make sure that I did ban you correctly b/c unless you slipped this by while I've been banning you, then I think I might have typed in your journal name wrong.
