laying low for a while....

I think it would be best if I try a little hard to be quiet for a while before I tick anymore people off and inspire them to take me off of my friends list. Apparently my "what goes around comes around" attitude about Saddam and my opinions about my work are quite upsetting.

Well if it helps any I didn't find your opinions upsetting at all :P. It's your journal, you're supposed to post your own opinions and thoughts here!

I know it but...
still I know my friend, okay, and I shouldn't have posted it knowing how she'd react since she's the type that would get that upset at types of comments like I said about Saddam. she believes every human (*grumble* or everyone that appears to be human) should have human rights regardless of if they violate human rights or not.

no but...
Yes of course you should have posted it!! In fact, I am surprised you´d remove the post (and make an issue out of it...) simply because of a comment from me. I agree with your other friends, it´s your journal and you should post what ever you want, regardless of what others think. That´s why I didn´t try to argue with you but said I´d remove you (I have a rule of telling people when I remove (or add) them, I think it is basic politeness). You post what your want in your own journal and that is totally fine and the way it should be. But why should I read it knowing it might upset me and risk causing arguments between us??

My friends know I don't censor my journal, although I do try not to speak on political views and stuff like that without some sort of disclaimer. There are so many opinions on that kind of thing I don't think I could keep from not offending at least a few people, especially if they have a strong opinion opposite of mine... Personally, I didn't see your post that offended her but I wouldn't want to see somebody hold back an opinion on something for fear of insulting. I don't think people should get that pissed over somebody's personal opinion... but then again, like I said I didn't read it so I may not have the whole story here ^^ If there's one thing all those science courses taught me its there's always another, and oopposing opinion. I try to accept them all, because people usually have just as good reasons for their attitudes as I do for mine. I hope that makes sense... I ramble :)

principles of free speech
Sweetheart, how long have we known each other? And in that time how many times have we had different opinions? A good gazzilion! Just because someone is of a different opinion from your doesn´t mean your opinion is wrong. And most importantly, just because someone is of a different opinion doesn´t mean you should not post about it. This is your journal and you should say what ever you want without caring what other people´s opinion is or having to sonsor yourself. Free speech you know. That means that you write what you want and if people don´t agree or want to read it, they don´t have to. But that works in the other direction too, just because you have an opinion doesn´t mean I have to agree or want to read it. I don´t censor myself in my journal either and I welcome other opinions (as long as it stays polite), but if someone doesn´t want to add me when I add them or read my posts, that is totally fine.
Better I say I prefer not to read this and therefore will remove you from my friend´s list than to start an argument with you and try to convince you that you are wrong, no? It´s not about this specific post either but about your journal in general and I would rather remove you from my friend´s list and remain friends with you than to constantly argue with you.
